UPDATE FROM EMERALD OF SIAM 10/5/2026
Thanks to our community’s incredible generosity, we’ve raised over $102,000 toward replacing The Emerald’s kitchen hood system! We had hoped we wouldn’t need to ask again, but unexpected costs, including a required $24,000 intake unit, engineering, permitting, and additional plumbing, electrical, and interior construction, along with the growing possibility of a longer shutdown, have led us to raise our GoFundMe goal to $175,000. These funds will help complete the project, cover ongoing expenses, and support our employees while we’re temporarily closed. Renovating an older building still carries uncertainties, and we’re working closely with our contractors to manage costs. For 43 years, The Emerald has been a home for Thai food, live music, artists, and community, and your encouragement gives us the courage to keep going.
